Pike Place Market Celebrates the Opening of the Overlook Walk with Local Music, Art, and Small Business Highlights
On October 4, the Overlook Walk will open connecting two of Seattle’s iconic landmarks
SEATTLE, WA — On October 4, Pike Place Market will celebrate a major milestone: the grand opening of the Overlook Walk, a new connection between Seattle’s iconic waterfront and the Market. This innovative public space represents a huge moment for the city, creating a vibrant, walkable link between the shores of Elliott Bay and the historic Market, bringing residents and visitors closer to Seattle’s unique cultural epicenter.
“The opening of Overlook Walk highlights the strong collaboration between Pike Place Market and the City of Seattle. Since the MarketFront project in 2017, this partnership has continued to enrich our community by creating new, accessible ways to experience the Market. We are thrilled to now have a stunning connection between the historic Market and the waterfront, enhancing the visitor experience while bolstering our support for the 500 local small businesses that make Pike Place Market truly special.”
This new pathway not only creates a new gateway to Pike Place Market, but also amplifies the stories of our artisans, farmers, and independent businesses that have made Pike Place Market the Soul of Seattle for over a century.
