Magic in the Market is Back for its 26th Year at Pike Place Market

SEATTLE, Nov 2, 2020 – Join the Market as we kick off the holiday season with free Santa photos, handmade holiday shopping, live music, Market lights and more! Saturday, November 27th also marks Small Business Saturday, this holiday support your favorite small Market businesses. Grab takeout from award-winning eateries, shop for the freshest ingredients in the open-air market and find the most unique gifts! We’ve got something for everyone on your list and things to do in this nine-acre holiday wonderland.

Pike Place Market is celebrating its 26th annual Magic in the Market! You will find holiday spirit across all 9-acres on this unforgettable day. There is no place more memorable than the Market during the holidays. Bring the whole family to experience the magic; meet Santa, listen to caroling, sip some eggnog, shop for loved ones, all leading up to the famous Market lighting ceremony at 5pm. This is an event you won’t want to miss!

Holiday Lights and Decorations across 9 acres
Keep your holiday tradition alive and experience the magic of the Market during the holidays. Enjoy the Market’s holiday lights and decorations all month long in December as you shop. A great photo op will be on the MarketFront in front of our Winter Wonderland scene, designed by Market Artist Graig Anderson.

Free Santa Photos (Under the Clock & Sign)
Get a free photo with Santa! Whether you’re 2 months or 88 years old, everyone is welcome. Santa will be available for photos from Noon – 4 pm. Crafty, the Market mascot will also be making appearances for free photos.

Special Shopping Offer (Under the Clock & Sign) – Spend $50 or more at any Market businesses and receive a Market wrapping paper kit.

Giant MAGIC Photo Op (MarketFront Deck) – Take a special photo in front of our oversized MAGIC letters with Puget Sound as your background.

Live Holiday Music (Under the Clock & Sign)  – Market Buskers and holiday choirs will perform throughout the day on the Market Farm Truck.

Glass Blowing Demo (MarketFront Plaza) – Watch as Market Artist Gina Karaba makes holiday glass art in real time.

Graig Anderson Demo & Kids Packets (MarketFront Pavilion) – Graig Anderson will be in the North Pavilion doing a sculpting demo, and will be passing out free “Crafty Holiday Art Packs” to kids (while supplies last). Bonus! Graig will be designing 4 new holiday cutouts to decorate the Market and his annual holiday button.

Treasures and Trimmings (MarketFront Pavilion) — A holiday showcase of handmade ornaments, decorative items and treasured handmade one-of-a-kind gifts from our Market crafters.

Crafty Photos (MarketFront Pavilion) – Take a free photo with Crafty the Market’s snow monkey in the winter wonderland forest.

Holiday Drinks and Décor on Pike Place – Select businesses will line Pike Place with holiday drinks, festive wreaths and center pieces.

Market Lighting (Marketwide) – After a day of shopping step out onto Pike Place at 5pm to watch the Market illuminate with Santa.

Parking Has Never Been Easier

Parking is available in the Public Market Parking Garages (Two entrances on Western Ave 1531 Western Ave. and at 1901 Western Ave.), with direct elevator access to the MarketFront and Desimone Bridge entrances to the Market. The garage has over 800 covered parking spots and nine electric charging stations. Details here

  • Early Bird Rate Flat $10: Enter one of our below garage entrances by 9 a.m. and exit any time before 9 p.m.
  • Evening Rate Flat $5: Enter one of our below garage entrances after 5 p.m. and exit by 2 a.m.
  • Low Hourly Rate:$4 per hour up to the first 4 hours

 

Pike Place Market Preservation and Development Authority PDA – The nine-acre historic district is maintained and operated by the Pike Place Market Preservation and Development Authority (PDA), a nonprofit public corporation created by the City of Seattle in 1973.
