Enjoy delicious small-batch ciders grown and produced locally!
Join us in welcoming one of our newest farmers to Pike Place Market, Puget Sound Cider Company!
Inspired by an antique cider press purchase the owners came upon while running their antique shop back in 2017, a fun hobby to share with friends, family, and shopgoers was an immediate hit. 7 years later, it’s spurred into national recognition for their award-winning lineup of bottled ciders and a loyal following at local farmers markets.
Furthering our Meet the Producer tradition, you can chat with founder and Certified Pommelierâ„¢ Nick Hill behind the table Friday – Sunday at the Market.
He brings top-notch expertise with a more traditional approach to cidermaking, reinvigorating the “lost history” of cider with a focus on sourcing heirloom-quality cider apples of 17th and 18th century varietals.
Farm-Fresh Quality
Expand your palette with a uniquely distinct kind of cider not typically seen in store-bought canned products. These specialty batches are strictly made with cider-specific apples, all grown on their orchard just over 100 miles east of the Market in Ellensburg, Washington.
Their ciders lend themselves to a typically drier and more refined sparkling wine in the French and English style, compared to what many cideries are producing in the industry. Each blend is aged anywhere from 5 – 12 months to allow the flavors to fully develop.
Only whole fruits are added to build each infused flavor, producing an excellent branch-to-bottle product without any artificial sweeteners or concentrates.
Local Partnerships
With flavors incorporating fresh berries and other fruits, all of their supplementary fruits not grown on their own orchard is sourced from other local producers. They also support other small-scale cidermakers, selling their surplus cider apples to both growing operations and and amateur hobbyists.
Given Puget Sound Cider Company’s start as a homebrewed experiment, they pay it forward in empowering other enthusiasts who want to begin their own experiments with cidermaking.
Spoil your guests at an upcoming barbeque, enjoy over a picnic lunch, or bring home something special for your next date night. Enjoy flavors like blackberry, strawberry rhubarb, pear, and classic tart apple blends. With around 20 batches made annually, you can count on something new and fresh throughout each season.
Their Heritage Ciders continue to mature and deepen in complexity like a finer wine, with most reaching their peak at two to three years after bottling. It’s the perfect gift for any celebratory occasion with those 21+. Shop with them in the north end of the Main Arcade Thursday–Sunday, 9am – 5pm, or visit their tasting room in Renton. Cheers!
