SEATTLE, WA. November 9, 2022 – The holidays are kicking off at Pike Place Market with the 27th Annual Magic in the Market on November 26. This day also marks Small Business Saturday, support your favorite small Market businesses this holiday by shopping local and shopping small. There is no place more magical than Pike Place Market during the holidays. Bring the whole family to experience the magic; meet Santa, listen to caroling, sip some eggnog, shop for loved ones, all leading up to the famous Market lighting ceremony at 5pm. Experience holiday spirit across all 9-acres on this unforgettable day.

Magic in the Market
Saturday, November 26 | 11am – 5:30pm

Free Santa & Crafty Holiday Photos! (11am – 4pm)
Meet Santa and take a photo with him atop the Market farm truck surrounded by gifts and decorative holiday trees. Santa will enter the Market with a welcoming performance from the Can Can Culinary Cabaret dancers under our iconic Public Market Center Clock & Sign.

Find Crafty, the Market Mascot, on the MarketFront Pavilion. He’ll be greeting Market visitors and posing for pictures in front of our woodland forest created by Market artist Graig Anderson.

Special Shopping Offer
Shoppers who spend $50 at Market businesses can receive two free limited-edition Pike Place Market wrapping paper rolls, while supplies last.

Hands-On-Hanukkah Kids Crafts!
The Market is excited to welcome Stroum Jewish Community Center (SJCC) to Magic with a new activity of DIY Hanukkah art projects for kids to take home. Participants will learn how to make paper-plate menorahs and edible dreidels.

Holiday Cookie Decorating in the Atrium
Bring your little ones to our Economy Atrium for cookie decorating and cookie eating. Chef Traci of Atrium Kitchen will be preparing cookies for kids and their families to decorate. Families will also get to enjoy holiday music from two outstanding musical groups:
– 12pm – 1pm Seattle’s Totally Relaxed Ukulele Musicians (STRUM) choir
– 2pm – 2:30pm Zje Mongolian Music Ensemble

Enter the MarketFront Pavilion for a remarkable display of handmade ornaments, holiday décor, stockings, stuffers and more! See live glass blowing right before your eyes! Market glass artist Gina Karaba will demonstrate how she makes her glass creations.

Pike Place Market Lighting Ceremony (5pm – 5:30pm | Under the Clock & Sign)
Watch as the Market comes to life! With a countdown from Santa and a dance number by the Can Can Culinary Cabaret dancers, we’ll light the Market. Watch as our tree, giant light-up vegetables, reindeer pigs, and lights throughout the Market turn on for the Holiday Season.

 

Pike Market Senior Center’s The Great Figgy Pudding Caroling Competition
Friday, December 2 | 6pm – 9pm

For the first time ever, the annual Figgy Pudding Caroling Competition, which benefits the Pike Market Senior Center & Food Bank, is coming home to the Pike Place Market. Traditionally held at Westlake Center, Pike Market Senior Center & Food Bank will host the competition under the Public Market Center Clock & Sign as it celebrates its 44th anniversary of serving our community. Figgy spectators will get to enjoy the bright holiday lights of the Market after dark, with some businesses staying open later and Pike Place lined with caroling groups, seasonal drinks and holiday shopping. This heart-warming event attracts nearly 10,000 people every year to enjoy holiday music and has become a spirited tradition for many Seattle locals to ring in the season with their neighbors. This is an enchanting event that’s welcome to all ages!
