Make It A Market Holiday!

Kick off the holiday season at Pike Place Market as we celebrate our 27th annual Magic in the Market! You will find holiday spirit across all 9-acres on this unforgettable day.

There is no place more memorable than the Market during the holidays. Bring the whole family to experience the magic; meet Santa, listen to caroling, sip some eggnog, shop for loved ones, all leading up to the famous Market lighting ceremony at 5pm. This is an event you won’t want to miss!

 

Event Activities:

KID’S ACTIVITIES
Free Santa & Crafty Holiday Photos!

11am – 4pm  •  Under the Clock & Sign & MarketFront Pavilion 

Get your FREE holiday photos at Pike Place Market. Meet Santa and take a photo with him atop the Market farm truck surrounded by gifts, and decorative holiday trees. Santa Karl will enter the Market around 11am with a welcoming performance from the Can Can Culinary Cabaret dancers under our iconic Public Market Center Clock & Sign. Santa will be at the Market for photos from 11am – 4pm.

Find Crafty, our Market Mascot, on the MarketFront Pavilion. He’ll be greeting Market visitors and posing for pictures in front of our woodland forest created by Market artist Graig Anderson.

 

Special Shopping Offer

11am – 4pm  •  Under the Clock & Sign

Spend $50 at Market businesses to receive two free limited-edition Pike Place Market wrapping paper rolls*. Shoppers just bring their receipts to the Event Information Tent under the Public Market Center Clock & Sign to receive their festive gift. While supplies last.

 

Holiday Cookie Decorating in the Atrium 

11am – 4pm  •  Market Atrium

Bring your little ones to our Economy Atrium for cookie decorating and cookie eating. Chef Traci of Atrium Kitchen will be preparing cookies for kids and their families to decorate. Find our Atrium in the Economy Building on the south end of the Market. Popular shops near the Atrium include Eighth Generation, Tenzing MoMo and Pasta Casalinga. Bonus! Families will also get to enjoy holiday music from two outstanding musical groups:

• 12pm – 12:30pm Zje Mongolian Music Ensemble
• 1pm – 2pm Seattle’s Totally Relaxed Ukulele Musicians (STRUM) choir

 

Holiday Treats on Pike Place

Deck the Pav’ Holiday Craft Showcase

11am – 4pm  •  MarketFront Pavilion

Enter the MarketFront Pavilion for a remarkable display of handmade ornaments, holiday décor, stockings, stuffers and more! This is the place to find the ultimate treasures and trimmings for everyone on your list, and maybe a few goodies for yourself. Shoppers also have the chance to vote for their favorite handmade ornament for a chance to win the grand prize of a gift basket full of handmade treasures and specialty food items from businesses throughout our Daystall tables or a $50 gift card. Glass Blowing Ornament Demonstrations

11am – 4pm  •  MarketFront Deck

See live glass blowing right before your eyes! Market glass artist Gina Karaba will demonstrate how she makes her stunning glass ornament creations. Stop by her tent on the MarketFront.

Special Holiday PIKE BOX Offer 

11am – 4pm  •  MarketFront Pavilion

Stop by and meet our PIKE BOX team and learn about the Holiday PIKE BOX, which supports Pike Place Market farmers and makes a unique festive gift for family and friends. The BOX includes a selection of popular products that showcase the taste of Pike Place Market from our local farmers. Plus, new this year, you can ship this box to anyone in the United States.

Bonus! Shoppers who sign up for a PIKE BOX onsite will receive a free PIKE BOX tote bag.

 

Pike Place Market Lighting Ceremony

5pm – 5:30pm  •  Under the Clock & Sign

Watch as the Market comes to life! With a countdown from Santa and a dance number by the Can Can Culinary Cabaret dancers, we’ll light the Market. Watch as our tree, giant light-up vegetables, reindeer pigs, and lights throughout the Market turn on for the Holiday Season.
