Free community event featuring Market farmers, locally grown produce, expert gardening advice, and live demos from Ciscoe Morris and Chef Traci Calderon.

SEATTLE – Pike Place Market invites the community to dig into spring at Grow & Gather, a new, free event celebrating local food, gardening, and hands-on learning. The event will take place Saturday, April 18, from 11 am to 4 pm at the north end of Pike Place Market, between Stewart and Virginia streets.

Designed for everyone, from backyard and community gardeners to visitors curious about where their food comes from, this event offers a welcoming space to learn about food production in the Pacific Northwest. Learn directly from the experts about ways to grow food, discover gardening tips, and explore new ways to cook with fresh produce.
Throughout the day, visitors can shop for produce and flowers from Market farmers, connect with local horticultural organizations offering helpful gardening tips, and enjoy live programming focused on growing, cooking, and eating locally.

Highlights include a free gardening presentation and Q&A with Pacific Northwest horticulture icon Ciscoe Morris and a live cooking demonstration by Chef Traci Calderon of The Atrium Kitchen, showcasing ways to use fresh ingredients at home. Plus, chat with experts from non-profit organizations like the Washington State University Master Gardeners, Tilth Alliance, and Plant Pathologist Abby Beissinger.

Ciscoe Morris is one of the Pacific Northwest’s most beloved gardening voices, known for decades of sharing accessible, joyful gardening advice. He has hosted popular garden programs on television and radio, appears regularly on KING 5, and is the author of the national bestselling book Ask Ciscoe. His deep knowledge and infectious enthusiasm have inspired generations of gardeners across the region.

Chef Traci Calderon brings more than 20 years of experience across private chef services, catering, restaurants, specialty foods, and hands-on cooking education. Since launching her first food business in 2006, she has cooked for thousands of guests and now leads The Atrium Kitchen, where she helps home cooks and communities build confidence and creativity in the kitchen.
