Pike Place Market Express Farmers Markets are Rejuvenating Downtown Seattle

The Market’s seasonal Farmers Markets are popping up in three locations throughout downtown Seattle

SEATTLE, WA – Pike Place Market, one of Seattle’s most iconic landmarks, is excited to announce the launch of its Express Farmers Markets for the summer season. This beloved seasonal activation brings the vibrant spirit and abundant produce of Pike Place Market directly to three offsite locations: City Hall, First Hill, and the Amazon campus in South Lake Union. By expanding its reach beyond its historic location, Pike Place Market aims to revitalize downtown Seattle and create a bustling atmosphere throughout the city.

The Express Farmers Markets provide an opportunity for residents, workers, and visitors in these areas to experience the charm and diversity of Pike Place Market without having to leave their neighborhood. These satellite markets feature a carefully curated selection of local farmers and artisanal food vendors, offering a range of fresh produce and delectable treats.

“We are thrilled to offer the Express Farmers Markets as part of our ongoing commitment to serve the community and support local farmers,” said Mary Bacarella, Executive Director of Pike Place Market. “By partnering with City Hall, Virginia Mason, and Amazon, we are not only bringing the essence of Pike Place Market closer to people but also working collaboratively to reactivate downtown Seattle.”

The City Hall location, situated in the core of the city’s government district, will host the Express Farmers Market every Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. This convenient spot allows city employees, nearby residents, and visitors to stock up on farm-fresh produce, locally-made goods, and specialty items during their lunch breaks.

The second Express Farmers Market will take place at the Van Vorst Plaza on Amazon campus in South Lake Union every Thursday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. This collaboration showcases the shared commitment to supporting local businesses and enhancing the work-life balance for neighboring employees, residents, and the surrounding community.

Virginia Mason, a leading healthcare organization committed to community well-being, will host the Express Farmers Market every Friday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. This partnership fosters a healthy and sustainable lifestyle by offering easy access to nutritious produce and locally sourced products for staff, patients and neighbors.

Through these Express Farmers Markets, Pike Place Market aims to create a vibrant network of community hubs that promote local agriculture and commerce, foster connections, and revitalize the downtown area.
