SEATTLE, WA – Pike Place Market invites the community to support farmers during National Farmers Market Week with special programming and activities during the August 5 Produce on Pike event. As the country’s longest continuously running public market, Pike Place Market encourages locals to “Meet the Producer,” shop locally, and learn about where your food comes from.

With more than 90 local farmers who bring their fresh fruits, vegetables, flowers, herbs, meat, dairy products, and more to Pike Place Market each and every day, locals can find a sense of connection to the foods they eat and products they buy, knowing they were grown and made with care within 100 miles of Seattle.

Experience Produce on Pike and Chances to Win Prizes

During the Produce on Pike event on August 5 from 3 pm – 7 pm, shoppers can peruse products from farmers, learn from local non-profit organizations, connect with growers through the “Meet the Farmer” Passport, and participate in a special shopping offer. For the August 5 event, shop from three market farmers to be entered to win a $300 Market gift card. All shoppers who enter to win the gift card will also receive a free bundle of sunflowers and a coupon to Jacobs Agro.

Explore Locals’ Night with Free Market Parking

As part of Produce on Pike, the Market is coming together to create an exciting and welcoming atmosphere for our locals through parking incentives and extended hours. Shoppers who spend $50 or more with Market businesses on Wednesdays can receive free evening parking after 4 pm in the Pike Place Market Parking Garage. To receive your parking voucher, visit the Produce on Pike Information Booth located at Pike Place and Stewart Street and provide proof of purchase.

In addition to the Wednesday evening draw, more than 30 Market shops, restaurants, and entertainment venues are extending their hours to accommodate evening visitors. Make it a Market evening by supporting the farmers set up on the cobblestones, visiting your favorite eateries, or simply taking in a beautiful summer evening on the Sound.

Produce on Pike is held at the north end of Pike Place between Stewart and Virginia Street.

Support Pike Place Express Markets

For locals who can’t make it downtown to visit Pike Place Market, farmers bring their goods directly to the South Lake Union and First Hill neighborhoods once a week through the summer as part of the Express Market program.

• South Lake Union: Thursdays through October 29 from 10 am to 2 pm, located at 426 Terry Avenue N.
• First Hill: Fridays through September 11 from 10 am to 2 pm, located at Spring St. & Terry Ave, next to the Baroness Hotel.
