Join us on Saturday, February 1, as we celebrate the 3rd Annual Local Appreciation Day—the official kickoff to Local Love Month at Pike Place Market! This annual event is our way of thanking you—our loyal Market supporters—who shop at local businesses, enjoy local foods, and champion our community of small business owners, farmers, artisans and performers all year long.

On this special day, the Market comes alive with activities designed to celebrate and inspire our locals. Explore the Market’s nine acres filled with live busker music, artist demonstrations, interactive pop-up murals, and the chance to play Market Bingo. Shoppers can also take advantage of an exclusive shopping offer: spend $50 or more to receive a Pike Place Market enamel pin and water bottle, while supplies last.

Local Appreciation Day is all about celebrating the heart and soul of Pike Place Market—our community. Your card will be filled with fun challenges like “Visit a new shop,” “Snap a selfie with a Market mural,” or “Find a handmade treasure.” It’s an adventure across the Market’s nine acres with opportunities to win exciting prizes each week in February. Market Artist Interactive Murals

Be the first to experience stunning new murals created by Pike Place Market artists, designed for interaction and as fun prompts for unique Market selfies. Strike a pose with these vibrant works of art, which celebrate the local talent in our Market and across our City. Enjoy this walkable gallery across the Market’s 9-acres. Murals were designed by Market artists Allison Moore of Dark Duck Clay Shop, Brooke Westlund of Brooke Westlund Studio and Gallery and Kate Endle of Kate Endle Illustration.

Artist Demonstrations

Come meet the artists that make up the Art Stall Gallery! The women-run cooperative is celebrating its 60th anniversary this February. To kick off the celebration, they are inviting visitors to watch their artists paint. Visit the Economy Atrium on the south end of Pike Place Market to watch these artists in action and chat with visitors about their enduring legacy, which began during a turbulent time in our Market history.
