Folio Presents: Outside the Familiar: Bach, Beach, Fauré, and Barber

Folio: The Seattle Athenaeum is pleased to welcome cellist Sarah Rommel and pianist Xiaohui Yang for their debut performance at Folio, a musical journey across cultures and centuries.

This program spans four centuries of cello and piano repertoire, from the stately architecture of Bach’s Sonata in D Major to the Romantic lyricism of Amy Beach and Gabriel Fauré, culminating in the bold, driving energy of Samuel Barber’s Sonata, one of the great American works for the instrument.
