About Us

the Monarq is a Chicago-born artist and independent designer who began selling her work in Pike Place Market in the summer of 2024. Sabella, the artist, designer, and writer creating under “the Monarq,” works with abstraction through a mixture of analog photography, pattern design, and printmaking alongside portraiture.

Themes around self-identity and its expression, along with capturing the relationship between the environment and the journey towards self-discovery, is a principal theme of her work.
