About Us

Paper Scissors Rock’s whimsical mandala stones are casted and handpainted by artist Pam Corwin. Pam says she never paints the same design twice, which means every stone is a one-of-a-kind piece of art.

The mandala stones are coated with epoxy resin making them strong, and safe to display outdoors.

The mandala is a spiritual symbol in Buddhist culture. Translated from Sanskrit, mandala means “circle.” Since the circle has no beginning or end, mandalas are used as a visual representation of the universe. Often used to focus on while meditating, the mandala is also said to be reflective of the inner self. The belief is that by entering the mandala and proceeding towards its center, you are guided through the cosmic process of transforming the universe or self from a state of suffering into one of joy and happiness.

“Of course, whether you meditate or not, they are a lovely piece of art and a truly special and unique gift for almost anyone,” Pam says.

Pam has been selling her art at Pike Place Market for over 40 years. Find her Monday and Saturday in our Crafts Market.
