About Us

Fresh every day, Le Panier has croissants, baguettes, sandwiches, savory pastries, palmiers, macarons, and a beautiful selection of French pâtisseries (pastry). Espresso & coffee are also served. It’s the perfect stop for breakfast, lunch and of course dessert. The perfect stop on your way to a FIFA World Cup 2026 Match!

It began in 1983, when Le Panier opened its bakery doors onto Pike Place to bring a taste of France to Seattle for all to share.

Hubert, the creator of Le Panier, was missing his daily baguette to enjoy with the cheese he was importing so he decided to open a classic French bakery in the heart of Seattle – Pike Place Market. He brought 7 bakers from the baking school in Normandie to bake the French classics. Kristi Drake, owner, was there on opening day welcoming customers in.

Le Panier continues to use the oldest of traditional recipes, classic techniques and pure flavors. They are bakers, baristas, and people who strive to make something simply delightful. It’s what brings people together.

The bakers are led by Victoria whose background includes pastry production at the esteemed Pierre Hermé in Paris. Holding to the classic selection of products that bring together French baking methods and seasonal ingredients, she brings some new Baker’s Play to the display cases as well. The retail team is led by Kate who lives and breathes hospitality. She and her staff create a warm and welcoming atmosphere, greeting regular customers with their favorites, and inviting them to try something new that the bakers have dreamed up.

Rain or shine, their doors are open to share the aromas of fresh baked goods. Come and enjoy a croissant or two with friends, family, or visitors and take in the life of Pike Place Market.
