Sandal Making Class

Learn how to design and craft a classic all-leather bespoke sandal in Leolo’s Pike Place Market Atelier (in the Market Atrium at 93 Pike St., Suite 103.) This two-day workshop will teach you all the steps involved in creating a Greek-inspired sandal in the tradition of the legendary Barbara Shaum. The workshop will begin with a design and concept session, followed by two days of hands-on sandal making.

In this workshop, you will learn to design, make patterns, cut, dye, and prepare leather for straps and footbeds, the best construction and finishing methods, and an introduction to the world of leather, leather dyes, industry-specific tools, and techniques.

The class is geared toward those interested in DIY design, fashion design, leather-craft, shoemaking, and everyone else who just wants to know how to make everything.

No prior experience necessary.
