If you’re interested in joining the Pike Place Market PDA Council, we encourage you to apply! To get started, please submit a resume, CV or biographical information to [email protected]. Our Nomination Working Group will reach out with further information. We are looking for candidates with a wide array of backgrounds and expertise.
Are you a member of the Market community or a dedicated supporter of the Market? Consider joining the Pike Place Market Constituency, which offers a forum for public participation in the Market. Four of the PDA Council seats are elected by the Constituency. Click the link to learn more.
Council Terms
Council terms are four years, beginning July 1 and ending June 30. However, vacancies can occur throughout the year. We accept candidate applications year-round and keep them on file in the event of vacancies.

After You Apply: What’s Next?
It is recommended that applicants review the following documents for a better understanding of Market history and governance, including the Master Plan, which outlines the vision and goals for the Market’s future. The first phase of implementing this plan will be a primary objective for the PDA Council over the next few years.
Application and Interview Process
Please note the time between application submission and interviews can vary. The general timeline is:
- Applications are received throughout the year.
- Candidates whose skills best align with the current needs of the Council are selected in June for interviews.
- Interviews with the three-member Nomination Working Group, which consists of three members of the PDA Council, take place in June and July.
- A resolution is presented at the August PDA Council meeting for approval of the new PDA appointed Councilmember or recommendation for the appointment of a mayoral-appointed Councilmember.
- Documentation is sent to the City and the candidate is officially added to the PDA Council.
