About the artist:
Inspired and mentored by longtime Market artist Ernesto Ybarra, Jordan Phillips is a Seattle based Artist and Illustrator. Inspired by the likes of Shel Silverstein, Salvador Dali, Keith Haring, David Choe, Basquiat and of course Ernesto Ybarra. Born and raised in Seattle Washington. The Pike Place Market gave him the resources and connections he needed to recognize his passions while also harboring a loving and supportive community. In 2021 he graduated high school knowing he wanted to run his own business, but he didn’t know how and no one was there to tell him, so if you would’ve told him in 5 years he’d be running his own business full time he’d probably not even laugh especially when you said he was selling art. The market inspired him to follow his dreams and now it’s helping him live them.
He works to explore surrealist ideas and the human condition through unique and expressive techniques that aim to challenge the viewers very understanding of art and humanity. His drawings are a reflection of the mind and how mental strain bends our perception to often inflate or distort the proportions of reality. Find them on his website or at the market! His paintings represent his emotions and his experiences allowing him communicate ideas that couldn’t be communicated any other way. It’s Jordan at his most vulnerable state confident or not. happy or not. creative or not.
