About Us
Rick Morley has been selling his sensational scenic photography for 37 years at Pike Place Market. Although he joined the Market in 1984, his path to photography has been shaped by a lifetime of varying careers.
Rick’s abiding interest in photography began when he was a sailor in the U.S. Navy in the ’70’s. He found himself off many exotic shores in the Tropics that were all fertile locales for capturing photos.
As a deck officer for the Washington State Ferries, Rick spent 12 years serving on every ferry route in Puget Sound, ultimately rising to the rank of Captain and all the while taking every opportunity to perfect his portfolio of Northwest photos.
Rick started a second career at Pike Place Market and art shows around Seattle, selling prints made from the highest resolution film cameras available and establishing a reputation for uncompromising clarity and an “eye” for those special moments in special places.
Now with high-resolution digital cameras, but vastly improved in-house, all-archival printing and framing. Rick still spends many days each year pursuing new images from new locales and trying to improve images from previous shoots, some take many attempts over many years to “perfect”.
Spend a few moments here in the galleries and share with Rick what 30 years of photographic devotion to Washington State has produced. For more info on print sizes, custom framing and matting, and shipping, contact Rick by email at [email protected].
