SNAP Market Match & EBT (Farmers Markets)

The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program is a federal program that can be used at farmers’ markets across the state. SNAP Market Match lets shoppers double their EBT benefits to buy more fruits and vegetables.


Exchange is REQUIRED before shopping.

  • At the exchange, shoppers receive EBT currency and a matching amount of SNAP Market Match dollars.

Exchange at Pike Place Market:

  • If you want to double your EBT with SNAP Market Match at Pike Place Market, please visit The Market Commons, which administers and exchanges the currency.

Exchange at Pike Place Express Farmers Market locations:

  • Visit the information tent onsite. Staff will exchange EBT dollars for market currency.

Valid at these Market Businesses:

  • Pike Place Market farmers who sell produce, nuts, mushrooms, honey, herbs, hot sauces, protein, dairy, bread, and plant starts.
  • This program excludes hot prepared food.

WIC and Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program

The Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program provides an $80 benefit card to purchase fresh produce at farmers markets from June-October.

Applications for the 2023 SFMNP season are open through May 19th to eligible King County residents ages 60+. Apply online

WIC applications are ongoing.

Both Pike Place Market and Pike Place Market Express Farmers Market locations have approved farmers that can accept WIC/SFMNP cards.


No Exchange needed. You can use your card directly with vendors at their stall or tent. 


Valid at Pike Place Market Express Farmers Market locations and Pike Place Market

  • All participating farmers will have signs posted at their booth.
  • The Express Farmers Market information tent can provide a list of vendors.

Fresh Bucks Program

Fresh Bucks is a healthy food program that helps Seattle residents purchase fruits and vegetables. Shoppers receive a card that they can redeem for Fresh Bucks vouchers at farmers markets.


Exchange is REQUIRED before shopping.

Exchange at Pike Place Market:

  • Please visit and contact The Market Commons to learn more about exchanging Fresh Bucks Vouchers and Fresh Bucks Cards.

Exchange at Pike Place Market Express Farmers Market locations:

  • Bring your Fresh Bucks card or Fresh Bucks app to the Market information booth and exchange for Fresh Bucks vouchers.

Valid at these Market Businesses:

  • Pike Place Market farmers who sell produce, herbs, and plant starts.

Pike Place Market Farm Stand and Highstall Dollars (Market Residents Only)

This program is administered by The Market Commons to the low-income residential Market community.


NO Exchange needed.

EBT Bonus Card Program (Highstalls only)

Double your EBT dollars at participating Market Highstalls.


A Bonus Card is REQUIRED before shopping the Highstalls at Pike Place Market.

Apply at the Market Common:

  • If you want to double your EBT with a Pike Place Market Bonus Card, please bring your EBT card to The Market Commons who administers the program.

Valid at these Market Highstalls:

    • Show both your EBT and Bonus Cards and receive a 50% discount on your purchase.
