Special Event Requests
Pike Place Market PDA (‘PDA”) properties are closed to public access after regular business hours and on holidays. The PDA will consider requests from its tenants who wish to reserve building common areas and facilities for special events such as parties and receptions during the hours of 6 p.m. to 12 a.m. Such use is subject to terms and conditions as solely determined by the PDA.
Tenants must complete the event registration/use inquiry form at least 10 days prior to the event.
If an application is submitted less than 10 days before an event, a $25 fee will be enforced.
event registration/use inquiry form
Upon receipt of the electronic event registration request, the PDA will review the inquiry, and email the tenant to confirm the scope of the proposal along with any special considerations related to building operations, necessary permitting and space availability.
Following the PDA review, tenants must complete and submit a signed event agreement form no less than 10 days prior to the event.

Pest Control Best Practices
As part of a continued robust pest control effort in the Market and at Market businesses, the PDA will conduct storage and cooler space audits until August 31, 2024, to assess current conditions. Retail spaces will be included in this review at a later stage. The PDA will follow up and provide tenants with clear guidelines on their responsibilities, timelines, and any necessary materials, which may be supplied by either the tenant or the PDA.
Tenants can expect support from the PDA in identifying better storage solutions and recommendations. It’s important to adhere to these recommendations and address any findings promptly. Failure to address findings may result in fines or billable actions to correct the conditions.
Tenant Space Expectations:
- Maintain Cleanliness: Keep spaces clean and clutter-free. Remove all waste at the end of each day and clean floors and surfaces.
- Proper Food Storage: Store all food products, including fresh produce, in appropriate containers with secure lids.
- Elevate Items: Ensure all items are kept at least 6 inches off the ground.
- Securing Entryways: The PDA will install door sweeps to secure entryways.
- Pest Control Reports: Address open conditions identified in pest control reports sent via email.
- Employee Training: Train all employees on pest control best practices.
Tenant Storage Expectations:
- Quarterly Inspections: Following the initial storage/cooler audit, quarterly inspections will occur. Issues must be addressed within 2 days of notice.
- Clean Storage Areas: Maintain storage and surrounding areas in a clean and uncluttered manner.
- Proper Containers: Store all food items in plastic containers or storage bins with lids. Avoid using plastic wrap, cellophane, boxes, or pallets as these are not permitted.
- Common Areas: Items left in common areas, hallways, or outside coolers may be disposed of by the landlord at the tenant’s expense. Approved items will have identification stickers. Notices will be given for un-stickered items, allowing 48 hours for them to be claimed or disposed of by the PDA.
- Shelving Requirements: Ensure the lowest shelf is at least 6 inches off the floor to allow visibility for pest control inspections and does not obstruct the inspection of fans or coils.
Compliance Guidelines:
- Regular Inspections: The PDA Commercial Compliance Manager will regularly inspect tenant retail, storage, and cooler spaces.
- Notice and Timeline: Tenants will receive notice of any findings with a compliance timeline.
- Pest Control Services: Tenants can use PDA-contracted pest control services or choose their own. Documentation of services will be requested.
- Follow-Up Inspections: Follow-up inspections will be conducted. Outstanding deficiencies will result in fines.
