About Us
Jacobs Agro is a highstall at Pike Place Market offering chemical-free fruits, vegetables, free-range eggs, and seasonal plant starts sourced from their farms in Puyallup, Kent, and Port Townsend, Washington. They take pride in producing culturally relevant foods for African and Caribbean people, including tomato, kale, okro, eggplant, swiss chard, collard greens, onion, garlic, beets, and radish to name a few.
Owner Mark Jacobs carries on his family’s rich agricultural legacy from Guyana, where his family have farmed along the Demerara River in the village of LaRetraite for nearly a century. The family farm grows a variety of crops, including fruits, vegetables, rice, and sugarcane.
In addition to providing fresh, healthy produce, Jacobs Agro is also a leader in food production, greenhouse design and construction, irrigation systems, farm training, cold storage solutions, and transportation services.
Jacobs Agro is deeply passionate about providing fresh produce to everyone in Washington State. Since 2020, they’ve supported 17 food banks in Jefferson, Pierce, and King counties contributing more than 60,000 pounds of fresh produce. In collaboration with other farmers, Jacobs Agro intends to raise $100,000 to produce an additional 25,000 pounds in 2025.
Jacobs Argo also contributes to the Pike Place Market’s CSA programs including PIKE BOX.
