Pigs on Parade – Celebrate Pike Place Market Market Foundation’s 40th Anniversary with a special Pigs on Parade event. This will be a dazzling display of art on Pike Place. In 2001 the Market Foundation held a fundraiser that collected more than $400,000 for Market Foundation programs including a medical clinic, a child-care center, a food bank, and a senior center. The fundraiser, “Pigs on Parade,” featured about 170 fiberglass pigs designed by local artists and organizations in homage to Rachel, the Market’s beloved life-size bronze piggy bank. For the first time, some of these pigs will be returning to the Market for a special display, you won’t want to miss this!
