Located in downtown Seattle to the east of the waterfront, the Pike Place Market historic district encompasses 9 acres of farm and craft tables, shops, restaurants and sweeping views of the Olympic Mountains and Puget Sound. There is pedestrian access to the waterfront via the Pike Street Hillclimb.
Pike Place is a bustling street and pedestrians have the right of way. We recommend parking in the Public Market Parking Garage at 1531 Western Avenue and exploring the Market on foot. There is a skybridge in the garage that provides direct access to the main arcade of the Market.
Directions via Car to the Public Market Parking Garage
Via I-5 North: Take the Madison Street exit, #164, and turn left. Follow Madison Street to Western Avenue. Turn right onto Western Avenue. Follow Western Avenue for five blocks. The entrance to the Market Parking Garage is on the left side of the street.
Via I-5 South: Take the Denny Way/Stewart Street exit, #166. Follow Stewart Street to First Avenue. Turn right onto First Avenue. Two blocks north, turn left onto Lenora Street. Turn left onto Western Avenue. Follow Western Avenue for three blocks (passing Victor Steinbrueck Park on your right). The entrance to the Public Market Parking Garage is on the right side of the street.
Parking at the Public Market Parking Garage
Market access: take the elevator located in the center of the garage to the sky bridge across Western Ave to the center of the Main Arcade.
Additional access to the Market is provided by an elevator across the street from the garage on Western Ave. and stairs via the Pike Street Hill Climb.
Construction Impacts on Western Avenue
Beginning in June 2015, Pike Place Market is expanding with the MarketFront, a mixed-use project located on Western Avenue, to the west of the traditional Market. The Market is open for business and will not be greatly impacted by the MarketFront construction.
Construction impacts are as follows:
The west sidewalk and parking lane, as well as the existing southbound drive lane, will be closed for construction through November 2016. A new southbound traffic lane will be established and maintained for the duration of the project. Parking for Oversize Vehicles
Our parking garage and parking lots cannot accommodate RVs. There is RV parking available on surface lots directly across from the Seattle Aquarium on the east side of the 1500 block of Alaskan Way. This is within easy walking distance of the Market.

Valet parking is located under the Public Market Clock at the corner of 1st and Pike Place.
Pike Place Market is easily accessible by public transport from Sea-Tac Airport and surrounding Seattle neighborhoods.
Directions via Public Transportation:
Take Metro (Seattle's great public bus system) or Sound Transit Light Rail to the Market. Many Metro bus routes will drop you off near the Market on First Avenue or Pine Street. And the Westlake Sound Transit Link Light Rail station is located only four blocks away from the Market.
