Pumpkin Everything: Beyond the PSL

Pumpkin Everything: Beyond the PSL

Posted October 5, 2017

It’s no secret that pumpkin spice is a favorite fall flavor. If you’re a fan of all things pumpkin, the next time you’re at the Market take a stroll to enjoy an abundance of pumpkin spice goodness—all before you reach the original Starbucks! Here’s a quick roundup of Market businesses on the iconic Pike Place cobblestones and nearby that are offering pumpkin-y treats this season:

1. Ellenos Pumpkin Pie Greek Yogurt

Start off on the southwest corner of the Market across from the clock, where you can enjoy a pumpkin pie Greek yogurt from Ellenos. Who knew yogurt could taste so much like pie?

2. The Confectional Pumpkin Cheesecake

Continue along the cobblestones and stop by The Confectional where delicious mini pumpkin cheesecakes await.

3. Cinnamon Works Pumpkin Muffin

Next door at Cinnamon Works, a wide variety of pumpkin-flavored treats are available. From muffins to chocolate chip pumpkin cookies, there is something for everyone—including those with dietary sensitivities. Cinnamon works offers gluten-free pumpkin muffins and cookies.

4. Local Color Pumpkin Latte

Cross the street to Local Color, where you can take a break from the busyness of the Market and sit down to sip on a frothy pumpkin latte.

5. Le Panier Pumpkin Macaron

A little further north at Le Panier, you can choose from a selection of pumpkin spice-flavored baked goods, including pumpkin tarts (whole or sliced), pumpkin French macarons and pumpkin friand—which literally translated from French means “a tasty thing”—these little pastries resemble the better known soft and buttery madeleine cookie.

6. Choukette Pumpkin Éclair

Specialty bakery Choukette on Western Avenue has a few October specials, including this Instagram-worthy pumpkin éclair.

7. Shug's Pumpkin Ice Cream Float

Swing up to First Avenue for a fall float from Shug's Soda Fountain and Ice Cream. The possible combos are truly endless, but we recommend a masala chai latte topped with a scoop of Lopez Island pumpkin ice cream.

8. Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte

Okay, okay... It wouldn't be fall without indulging in at least one classic Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte (PSL for those in the know). This season, the original cafe located in the Market is offering an exclusive version using Pike Place Special Reserve roast.

9. Growing Washington Pumpkins

Too much sugar? Don’t forget to visit our Pike Place Market farmers, including Growing Washington in their new highstall, who will have pumpkin and other squash varieties available in the coming weeks!
